VODACOM NA MBWA-MWITU SERENGETI

Mkurugenzi Mkuu wa Vodacom Tanzania Dietlof Mare(kulia)akimuonyesha kitu Afisa Mkuu wa Masoko na Uhusiano wa Vodacom Tanzania Bi Mwamvita Makamba kwenye kambi ya utalii ya Soroi, Serengeti wakati wa uzinduzi wa mradi wa kuhifadhi mbwa mwitu (Vodacom Foundation’s Serengeti Wild Dogs Conservation Project) katika Hifadhi ya Taifa ya Serengeti.

WAZIRI wa Maliasili na Utalii, Ezekiel Maige,juzi amezindua mradi wa uhifadhi Mbwa Mwitu ujulikanao kama “Vodacom Foundation Serengeti Serengeti Wild Dogs Conservation Project” katika hifadhi ya taifa ya Serengeti,mradi ambao unafadhiliwa na kampuni ya simu za mkononi ya Vodacom kwa kiasi cha dola zakimarekani 450,000 kwa miaka mitatu. 

Akizungumza katika uzinduzi wa Mradi huo,Waziri Maige alisema Mbwa mwitu ni miongoni mwa wanyamapori ambao wapo hatarini kutoweka duniani hivyo jitihada kubwa zinahitajika kuwalinda na kuwahifadhi.Waziri Maige alisema katika bara la Afrika kuna idadi ya Mbwamwitu, wanaofikia 8000 na Tanzania pekee ina jumla ya mbwamwitu 3500 ambao wapo hatarini kutoweka hivi sasa.

Kikundi cha wanamabadiliko cha Tunaweza Chaniza Tubadilike (TCT) kimefanya mashindano ya kwaya na ngoma za asili July 10,2011 katika kijiji cha Kaseni kata ya Senga, Tarafa ya Bugando-wilayani Geita ili kufikisha ujumbe kwa jamii kupitia sanaa.

Mwenyekiti wa kikundi hicho Bw. Williamu Manyama alisema kuwa dhamira yao ni kuona jamii inaishi katika familia salama zisizo na unyanyasaji hivyo kuepukana na gharama za matibabu, ulemavu, vifo, uhasama, umaskini, kuvunjika kwa ndoa na ongezeko la watoto wa mitaani.

Alisema kuwa kupitia kampeni ya TUNAWEZA "We Can" kikundi chao kimefanikiwa kusuluhisha ndoa 10 zilizokuwa hatarini kuvunjika na kusajili jumla ya wanamadiliko 4,850 katika vijiji nane ndani ya kata mbili za Senga na Kagu ambapo lengo ni kuifikia wilaya nzima ya Geita.

Akisoma risala kwa mgeni rasmi, Bi.Veneranda Kaluletela pamoja na kulishuru shirika la Kivulini alibainisha kuwepo kwa mwamko mkubwa wa wananchi kuwaunga mkono kupinga vitendo vya ukatili dhidi ya wanawake, wasichana na watoto.

Mkuu wa wilaya hiyo Bw. Philimon Shelutete mbali na kupongeza jitihada zinazofanywa na kikundi hicho aliahidi ofisi yake kuwapa msaada wa hali na mali katika kufikia malengo yao.

KIVULINI AND ITS STAKEHOLDERS TRAINED ON PROJECT MONITORING, EVALUATION AND REPORT WRITING.

KIVULINI midterm review has done with a five days training of staff and its stakeholders on project monitoring, evaluation and report writing this July, 2011.



The objective of workshop was to equip staff and stakeholders additional knowledge on how to run their projects effectively.

The specific objective was to review activities conducted by the Organization from January to June and to write a good mid term report for each project.

During the workshop, participants from Non Government Organizations (NGOs), Local government representatives and Kivulini staff were taught the importance of project assessment and report writing.

The workshop also aimed at helping project runners to reflect on where they are going and how to get their smoothly by identifying problems and their causes.

All in all the workshop had a big impact and were very successful as every department wrote a good midterm report of their projects.
 


50 CHILD DOMESTIC WORKERS TRAINED ON ICT.

KIVULINI has trained 50 Child Domestic Workers the uses of computer so as to meet global challenges.
The challenge came as the world became a one village through the advancement of Information, Communication and modern Technology (ICT)

Therefore, Computer learning into our societies can not left behind child domestic workers as they are entitled to know what are going on around the world.

Article 18(1) of the constitution of Tanzania stipulates that, every person is freely to seek, receive, and impart information through any media and regardless of frontiers.

Article 18(2) states further that "every citizen has a right to be kept informed of developments in the country and in the world.

Vodacom Tanzania has appointed Ms Mwamvita Makamba as the company’s Chief Officer: Marketing & Corporate Affairs.


Mwamvita Makamba holds a Masters Degree in Politics and International Relations from the University of Dar es Salaam and she has been with Vodacom for three years. She becomes the first woman to hold such a senior position in the company which started operations over ten years ago.

Under her new portfolio, Ms Mwamvita will look after Consumer and Business Marketing, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Brand and Advertising, Corporate Communications, Corporate Social Responsibility (Vodacom Foundation), Sustainability and Stakeholder Relations for Vodacom Tanzania.
